HABINTEG DISABILITY HOUSING SERVICE

Habinteg's Disability Housing Service (DHS) provides free, independent and confidential advice on housing and related services to:
Disabled people and their families, living in either rented or owner occupied properties. Employees in housing, social services, and the voluntary sector.

The Habinteg DHS will provide advice, help and information on a wide range of housing topics including:

  • Applying for Council Housing
  • Housing Association accommodation
  • Private rented accommodation
  • Buying your own home or shared ownership accommodation
  • How to apply for aids and adaptations
  • Sign posting to other advice agencies for financial and benefit advice
  • Assist in getting the views of disabled people over to service planners
  • One Stop Shop

The Habinteg DHS aims to offer a specialist service that will act as a one-stop shop. The DHS is able to access a wide range of personnel and specialist resources. These include:

  • Social Services Department
  • Housing Department of Kingston upon Hull
  • Disability Information Database
